Hi

I’ve been an infrequent user of this site for a good number of years now.

I’m not at the standard of some of the designers on here but do make infographics and videos for different purposes.

I’d be interested in posting some designs on here but looking for some info from more skilled folk as an amateur.

I have access to all of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and primarily use Photoshop and After Effects.

I’ve began dabbling in Illustrator under the impression that it might be better suited to my needs. Often when I post things to social media using Photoshop, the images become pixelated.

Can anyone advise me on what I’d be better using? I’ve got lots of questions and would appreciate anyone’s help.

Hello, DMc.

I was taught the Adobe Creative Cloud whilst studying towards a diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology and spent a lot of my time using Photoshop and Illustrator.

My main software of choice is Photoshop simply because it's easy to use and you can create stunning graphics out of it.

9 times out of 10, images don't look pixelated as long as you use the right setting.

I have been tempted to use Illustrator recently, but having not used it since I was eighteen, it was a bit of a struggle.

Hope that helps.

Hi DeMarkay

Thanks, this is really helpful. Also good to hear someone with much more experience in the field uses the same software.

As I sometimes work with shapes and have lots of info on screen, I think that’s why I’m experiencing some pixelation and why I’m tempted to work with SVG and Illustrator.

Any tips for settings to make sure social media stuff always looks good?
