Well the word that springs to mind immediately is Patronising. Although I am safe in the knowledge that our two shepherds are here to guide us in the right direction.
Just a quick note to remind you that the exchange of copyrighted material is illegal.
I believe the notice that the forum had before it's enforced rebuild had wording something like the following.
"The Forum in no way condones the illegal exchange of copyrighted material. This forum should not be used for that purpose."
Please try to respect the forum ,composers and copyright owners in this respect.
Best Regards
Stuart
Although I see your point, I have trouble seeing your motives in trying to prevent people from having access to music for their own personal, private collection and that obviously have absolutely no intention of making any money from it.... but there we go...

Simple - These people earn a living from this music. Copying is still basically stealing their intellectual property (and their living).
If you want a copy - pay for it - email the library/composer/copyright owner and make arrangements with them.

I do agree with you, but the whole issue with piracy is complicated and although it's easy to say that somebody (an individule) not paying for a piece of software/sound track or whatever is stealing for its author, I just don't accept that it's that simple. You cannot assume that if there was no way of copying it illegally that the individule would in turn purchase a copy legally.
Seconded. Also a reminder that only members of the MCPS have rights to access library music.
I'll be around to alert members to specific requested tracks that are library.
Happy New Year to all!

Without wanting to get into this again what really is the difference between downloading a non-broadcast copy of a normal piece of music or library music.
The television channel has still paid the artist for their work and the downloaded copy is only used for private purposes. What really is the difference?
