Can any one help me here as to how I can start my own tv channel, something small, about 7 hrs on air every day, not ecessarily to have studios, but some airtime to broadcast.

I searched and contacted some companies non of them does what I am lookingfor.

You want to start a TV channel without using studios? What sort of crap do you plan on broadcasting? I wouldn't reccomend you even bothering, your channel will probably be pushed into the 200-300 section of sky with the rest of the ****. If no TV companies do what you're looking for, what exactly are you looking for, and what makes you think this is a TV company? At least give us some idea about what you intend to broadcast on your channel.

I heard some tv stations have some channels to lease, so that i can broadcast a pre-recorded programs not a live thing.

Yes, but what sort of shows? Something filmed in your back garden with a 1 pixel phone camera, repeats, or what?

Mr. Rowland You have been bit harsh to me but you seem to have very good idea, may be you can direct me. I will go to africa and make proper filming using the best vedeo camera, I will be making interviews, collect some old documentries and then broadcast to ethnic communities in UK perhaps rest of the world if i get satelite channel, there will be also advertisements, music ....etc.

And you actually have money to do this? well, if you are actually planning on making a decent film in africa, it would be better for you to make shows and send it to a TV company, rather than try and make your own.

Yes but my audiances will be ethnic communities.

So i will making films that are of interest to them.

He mean USE THE MONEY to pay the TV production company to make the programmes instead of yourself

Are you sure you want to start a TV channel? Aren't you running before you can walk?

I know nothing here, but if it were me and I had the resources, I'd put a little programme or documentary together, get it on that Current channel, or perhaps 3 Minute Wonder on C4, or another channel aimed more at the type of audience you're after.

If you're set on starting a channel, you'd need years of experience working in lots of different parts of broadcasting before you go about setting up something yourself - if you have the experience I'd imagine you would know basically how to go about it or where to get help. I can't see there being a cheap way of going about setting up a TV channel...

I think this is dream if you get what i mean - like i had a few months back. Creating your own tv station sounds fun and fresh. You could always try and create an online tv channel - but with people able to watch shows in many places at anytime now, i dont think you would have a hope in hell.

A channel that is based in Africa and broadcasts to ethnic minorities is called BEN and is on SKY (16 something I think). It is absolutely horrific and terribly amateur - bad picture quality etc. and Christian-based. Have a look at that. Is that what you intend to air?
