Hi
I was just wondering, would it be legal to use the Daybreak theme music on a podcast? It is not in use any more

Who owns the copyright? Have there cleared it? Just because its own longer used doesnt mean its doesnt have commercial value.

So it's not for personal use? or released on a CD? It's not for sartre reason or making a point with context? It would seem this podcast is for commercial use which means no. ules you get permission from the copyright holder.

The general consensus is unless you've acquired music from a royalty free source, you cannot use it for anything other than your own personal enjoyment unless you have a licence or some sort of paperwork that gives you the right to use it.

It doesn't matter if a piece of music isn't in use anymore. Somebody has created it and will need to be paid for their work.

In a nutshell, no, not without explicit permission from the copyright holder/publisher. More info here: https://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/protect/p07_music_copyright

I honestly don't think ITV would care too much. Enjoy using it
