YouTube are quietly testing HD 720p ( http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY&fmt=22 ), that sort of explains the wider player. However I think they should have a system where it can detect the aspect ratio of a video and automatically switch to 4:3 for 4:3 videos and 16:9 for 16:9 videos. It can be done, they did when they were testing HQ.

It's not unreasonable to expect that, is it? Especially since this makes my vids seem smaller than they actually are.
Well I see YouTube have updated a few navigation bars, revamped the bulletin boards and put video lengths on thumbnails BUT they STILL haven't sorted out the annoying "Which country are you in?" bug.

Yeah Blip TV successfully uses this.
Youtube seems so far behind with their player, i'm glad to hear that they're trying 720p.

for me, the irritating thing that pops at YouTube is the one when are being asked if you want to synchronise your YouTube account with your Google Account (since I use my Gmail in YouTube)...
What will happen on that?
Will you use your Google Account for logging in? just like what happen on Blogger?
