Help securing internship

Hey everyone,
I'm really looking hard for internships for the next 12 months to do to break up my studying at university for a year. Does anybody have any ideas or contacts that could be of any help?

Talking from experience, keep your sights low. Don't go for anything high profile, look for local independent production companies. Granted, I emailed about 90 companies in the North West and eventually got an internship off one company. It was sh*t.

What kind of internship are you after though? What sort of area... Production, Creative, Broadcast, Post Production (so many different areas)

Mainly development and creative. In terms of scripts and commissioning etc. I do have certain actual production skills that are mainly design based but I know my skills lie with developing ideas and writing; visualising, but others can produce a lot better. any ideas?

But just to add, I am generally multi-skilled and adaptable. Hate to box myself off.
