Does anyone have the fanfare "Te Deum" which is played at the start of the Eurovision Song Contest? I don't mind recordings off TV so long as they're high quality.

Here's the fanfare that was used by RTÉ in 1993 and 1988 (and possibly before that too). 1993 And here's the one they used in 1997 albeit much shorter than the older one. 1997

There's this one as well, which I believe has only ever been used once.

Has that been used lately? I don't think that was ever used before a song contest - perhaps before some other eurovision event. The only time I can remember hearing that before is last year when RTÉ used it in their preview show...but I may be wrong.

And in case anybody wants it, the longer and uberfab version of that one.

Ah, simply pure Eurocentrical bliss.

Fantastic stuff! I was just about to open a thread requesting this gem! Thanks everyone for posting the files. You cant beat the juxtapostion of EBU pomp with the dazzling display of wanton campery which inevitably follows.

Excellent stuff Noel! So thats where SVT took their fanfare from in 2000! I always thought they recorded it with an orchestra themselves because it was different to all of the fanfares used up until then...they just took the last loop of that file. Thanks for posting it!

Hi All,

I have a techno remix of the tune if anyone knows of a website I can post it - as it's over 5Mb.

Also, the song has two different names. In English it's called "Eurovision Hymnne" and for all other languages it's called "Song Festival a Hymmne".

Just thought you'd like to know that.
Maybe not.

As someone who has never seen Eurovision in my entire life and have no desire ever to, I find the name "Te Deum" very funny.

It looks as if it's pronounced "Tedium" (is it?), which strikes me as very apt for such un-entertainment as Eurovision! Laughing
