I'm wondering if the new one will be available commercially, because the last version that was released through the BBC - was the original 1984 version that was on the BBC World of Sound Album. Since then; the Jazzy theme from '93 and the '94 remix/modified version of the original - which was used up until the recently revitalised version, was only available on the Simon May CD 'New Vintage' and is very difficult to source.

Am I missing something? They sound exactly the same as the theme that has been used forever! That has to be the most pointless new version of a theme tune in the history of television!

If there is a difference, it is very, very slight. I personally wouldn't have bothered commissioning it if I were in charge of EastEnders. What was wrong with the previous version?

In my view they should have given the Jazzy version another go. There is a difference - mainly the addition of some 'sparkly' bits to the theme and the odd extra keyboard part.
