Was wondering if anyone remembers this advert and whether it's floating about on youtube.

It was for Dairy Milk, I think. Around 2001/2002 time.

It featured a music producer in a recording studio. Speaking to a band on the talk back, asking them to do another take. The band is a heavy rock group. He then turns the sound off, so he can't hear them and relaxes while eating dairy milk with (Again, I think) Spandau Ballets "True" playing. Interspersed with clips of the band playing loud rock/punk music.

It was actually for Magnum ice cream. (Skip to 3:54.) Smile

The very beginning of that video: I think that’s from a Corrie episode where a character died but left a videotape for her friends to watch (which is what that brief first second of the video is I think). Strange the things you remember from seeing a second of video!

So it's from Wednesday 20 June 2001. (Thank you, Corriepedia.) Laughing Wink

Ah! That explains why I could never find it. Getting the brand name totally wrong. But I guess the memory plays tricks on you when it's been 17 years! Many thanks for finding that.

To be fair, he is eating it like a chocolate bar and not like a normal Magnum, so I can see how your mind has played tricks on you!

Frightening enough thought that it's almost as old now as "True" was when it aired...

Yes, the video was played after the death of Alma Baldwin/Sedgwick,played by Amanda Barrie who was rather annoyed [a slight understatement] at the speed in which her character was killed off through cervical cancer saying it was unbelievable - many doctors also agreed at the time.
