I hope someone with a good ear can help me.

It seems that Big Brother is this year using a lot of library music as a lot of the tracks, which they have used on several occasions, I have heard elsewhere in other programs.

Does anyone know which library or collection they are from?

I'm pretty sure it's just different version's of Element 4 produced by Paul Oakenfold and Andy Gray.

Not the theme music, it's music used within the show. For example just before the opening credits when they do the "Previously" montage

For us non bb watchers, do you have any clips or links to a video featuring it?

Well here is a link to the latest episode on Demand 5: http://www.channel5.com/shows/big-brother/episodes/episode-51-34

EDIT: Just noticed that the expiry date on the episode above is 6 months? Is that a Channel 5 constant or have they extended it ridiculously for BB?

I'd hazard a guess that the classical pieces (if those are the ones you're after) could be from Xtreme Music's library as they do fairly dramatic orchestral styles. Either that or they've raided their library of 'blockbuster movie classics' type CDs as it sounds like they're bits from film scores, either publically available on soundtrack cds or from other production libraries.

In the other segment of the programme (where they are showing the housemates getting hot under the covers before the titles) they are using an instrumental of Change the way you kissed me by Example.

Usually such instrumentals come from the record labels on promo CDs with the actual radio edit track and several mixes and occasionally acapellas for the dancy stuff but not always (I used to work at a radio station).

If you go onto certain music download sites nowadays, all the tracks, remixes, instrumentals and acapella's are there for your downloading pleasure. But if you're lucky and you can find a DJ Promo with everything on it online then you're laughing.

If your interested search for CDM's and CDS' or sometimes they are just named Remix (EP).

Element 4 was the name of the "artist"/collaboration -- the song itself is just called Big Brother UK Theme.

Oh... and as for your apostrophe in versions..... Surprised

I have CD single C4M00072 which lists the tracks as "Big Brother" etc...

In Belgium however, on the Xtra Nova label, released in November 2000 (vinyl XN4793) it's listed as ElementFour by ElementFour, so perhaps it's only in foreign markets that it's called ElementFour.

It's like Zombie Nation by Kernkraft400 all over again!

It's not the CD Single that I have. I have a CD format of it but it distributed by a record label promo company called Music House. Includes all the remixes plus Radio Edit and Extended Mix and 12" Mix and its titled as ElementFour.

Thanks very much. The tracks I was looking for are indeed in Extremes library.
