I might be totally wrong, but I seem to recall they stopped using the national anthem around then. Didn't they just play out with one of the ident themes?

They played the national anthem over the balloon ident. It didn't last long due to the launch of News 24.

Yep, the balloon appeared on October the 4th. News 24 appeared just over a month later, so there were still some closedowns - and someone MUST have one somewhere...
What I believe they did was to have the closedown announcement over the clock, followed by GSTQ over a montage of the balloon idents.

Thanks for the video plus someone sent me the final closedown via email. Thanks for that too. I wonder what it would have looked like if they continued that sort of closedown in the dancers era plus the recent circles.
