On the BBC News at Six tonight, towards the end they did a feature on the Election, can anyone tell me the music track / song used in this?

I believe it was Viva La Vida by Coldplay, from their album... also called Viva La Vida

ITV1 has also been using this track in its generic election promo (the one pushing ITV News, Tonight and Campaign 2010).
