Does anyone happen to have the clean opening title music from East Midlands Today circa 1996 please? I don't know if the same music was used for all of the English regions, but anyway I've uploaded a streaming TV recording here:

The final EMT version seems to have had some extra 'whooshy' bits added in that aren't present on the CD ones...

...which is no big secret....

The publicly accessible database provides the following information:

"Newslive" by Richard Myhill
K.P.M. Music Ltd.
CD: K.P.M. CD 186 Tracks 46-49

The remixed version with the extra 'whoosy' bits was a custom job and was never made available in the library. Which is a shame...

Ultimately, obviously, it's Asa's decision what goes on this site...

I've simply taken the view that posting information about a track is perfectly reasonable and legitimate. Simply because it's available elsewhere in a freely publicly accessible form. Now some users here may not be appraised of how to access this, so I just think it's a nice and helpful thing to do to pass on whatever details I'm able to.

As you know my dear 623058, I'm a member of other forums (all with very regular viewings from many in the broadcast industry) where this kind of thing happens and its no big deal. Indeed for those industry professionals it can be quite useful, and saves a fair bit of searching.

However, and this always needs to be said, I fully support the rule that the actual library music itself should not be distributed. It's copyright material and that's that.

I understand, pointing out where it is one matter, and not to be confused with the other,

I wonder why BBC themes are so harder to found?
