As I personally think the current opening titles are dire and disappointing, I've created a new version based on the promo. Please understand that my mocking ability isn't brilliant, these are merely put together to show an idea.

After the ITV ident we join a shot of Big Ben live to countdown into the news.

When the time is reached, the first bong chimes and the camera pans back, revealing images of today's headlines.

The camera pulls back further and into the studio. The images continue to move into the distance on the screen, with the presenter standing by.

The four squares form up and the headlines are introduced. The news reader walks along the whole screen pointing at images.

The camera zooms into the screen again quite quickly.

This time, images of major news events from the past are displayed. These could be updated every so often, or changed with images of sunsets and people rushing around in time lapse for the morning news.

The camera then zooms into the ITV News logo.

Then we fade into the studio.

Let me know what you think. As I said, it's mainly about the idea, not the mocks.

I think there are some great ideas here, but just to mix things up a bit, I'm wondering what you'd think of having the images on the screen move instead of the presenter, so as to make it look as if the screen is rotating around them. I can see this being done, but then again, it kinda defeats the purpose of having a semi-circular studio Very Happy But I digress. They look great!

Nothing wrong with these, but not a patch on the new look.

I like them very much, but (no offence) I prefer the new logo instead.

Actually, this style would work well as a break-filler on the ITV News Channel.

Well I don't want to claim that I've made them from scratch because I'd be lying. I got the idea from the Windows Millennium Edition video clip.

It's funny, as soon as I saw these mocks the win me networking clip came straight to mind! Great minds think alike*!

I like the idea, but there seems to be no point in Big Ben being there! It has no relevance to the blue studio.

I also like the idea, and think that it would look better as a breakfiller.

Well done Chris Very Happy

Big Ben has no relevance to the current ITV news, but they still use it!

Actually, that's just my lazy mocking. In the image where Big Ben is on the video screen, it wouldn't actually stay there. As I said, the images would move into the distance, and then the camera would pull out into the studio. So the images would gradually get further away.

In this part of the titles, the images move into the background.

When the camera pulls back further and into the studio, the images get further away still.
