AJ posted:

I'd just like to point out that I use PowerPoint and PaintShopPro for all of my mocks. I do all the swirly flashy backgrounds etc in PaintShopPro, build the mock in PowerPoint and then export it to PaintShopPro to be saved.

I find that with this method, I produce mocks of a good standard, and I rarely get criticism from members anymore. The last "poor" comment I got from a member was that some text was too small - but that had nothing to do with the overall quality of the mock.

I suppose you might say I'm the exception to the general rule, but my point is that if you put the time and effort into learning how to use a program effectively, then you can produce good quality images with it.

In a thread, AJ says he can export mocks from PowerPoint into Paint Shop Pro. Can somebody tell me what this means, how to do it, and if it produces good quality?

I'm reluctant to help you largely because I don't like your attitude towards other members on the forum, but nevertheless here's how I do it...

Basically, all I do is start the slide show then hit print screen, and I paste it into PaintShopPro and then resize it to 41% and save it (usually as a png file)

it produces this sort of quality...

OR.. if your using PowerPoint 2003** you can save slide as..

.GIF
.JEPG
.PNG (dose not support saving PNG alpha channels. dose support importing PNG alpha channels)
.TIFF
.BMP
.WMF & .EMF

** i don't know if older version of powerpoint can save a slide as a image

Thanks for that, but AJ, I did apologise.

All versions of PowerPoint from '97 onwards can export slides as images, though dont expect good output from anything below 2003.

How do I resize the image? And how can I make smaller ones, like if I want to make a logo or signature, or does that come onder the resizing of the image?

Failing that just do a "PrtScn" screendump from PowerPoint to PSP

I recommend reading PaintShopPro's "help" tutorials rather than making separate posts about how to do this and that.

In Version 9 PSP

Choose Image > Resize (Shift + S) to open the Resize dialog.

To constrain your image to the dimensions of your image’s current Aspect Ratio, tick the Lock Aspect Ratio check box,

for more help on how to user PSP go to Paint Shop Pro User Group Web Site

or there Forum Paint Shop Pro User Group Forum

P.S : if i was you i go out and buy myself some real good photo editing app like Adobe Photoshop or Discreet Paint* (im not talking about MS Paint. Discreet Paint* is made be a Discreet the company behind 3DSMAX ) some times the better apps are easier to learn...

ALSO ...

to resize a object in your image you select the layer your object is on and click the Deform Tool on your left side toolbar (the 2nd tool on your tool bar)

a box will highlight around your object and there will be 6 points around your box by draging the points you can resize your object
