TV Gold.

Start at Part 1. Don't stop till you get till the end. Then petition any TV station of your choice to get this programme on British TV.

The problem with his great show is half the guest on his show, Will I and I DARE say many others will have no idea who there are, I think the best idea would be to have 2 mix bag show which included the best of all the weeks shows.

With any other show, having guests that nobody knows would be a problem if it were shown in the UK, but even if you don't know the guests, you can enjoy it anyway because Craig Ferguson is such an engaging host. It's not like Letterman or any of the others where you tune in to see the person being interviewed, you tune into Craig Fergusons show to watch HIM talking to people he likes.

I discovered The Late Late Show a couple of months back when he had Matt Smith on, and I've not missed an episode since. I watch it on YouTube, because a couple of people are nice enough to upload it every night, but I would love for this show to be picked up by a broadcaster in the UK. Since Craig is an ex-pat, his style actually would work for a UK audience I think. But I don't agree with having a 'best of', because broadcasters do not know what the best part of a show actually is most of the time. I prefer just the general chattiness between Craig and Geoff to the actual interviews sometimes, and just like Dave do with Top Gear 'Star in a reasonably priced car' segments, they'll no doubt cut those out if they did a 'Best of the Week' type show.

Since the show is on every night, you do get the inevitable running gags that go on for just a bit too long (Yeah i've got a place there, I go swimming, get naked and throw beads!), and the sense the show isn't planned in any way, but as long as you get over that, it's always fun to watch.

For fans of original Catchphrase, this channel has lots of the incidental music featuring the unmistakable synthesised sound of Ed Welch.

Featuring classic tracks like the slightly sinister version of the main theme, the one that Challenge TV used to use for its home viewer competitions back when it launched and one that David Hamilton nicked for All Clued Up.

The very first episode of Family Affairs from when, you know, it was actually about families.

The first time the 1993 EastEnders theme was used:

It's a very good theme and much more memorable than the original version, plus the intro is much better than the way it used to crash into the theme originally. But it probably doesn't suit a show about 'EastEnders' at all, in fact it's as if it's the parallel version of it ('WestEnders' in fact!).

Anyway, much prefer that over the poor rendition of the original theme nowadays. For completeness, here's the last time the original theme was used:

I remember when changed it, the public backlash was strangely nice to see!

If you have a bit of time, then its worth having a look at this guy's channel, it holds quite a number of clips from the BFI's One Day in the Life of Television from Tuesday 1st November 1988, with what an average day looked like on the main 4 channels.

This channel is really worth a look at, lots of CaptainSiCo's clips are from ITV/C4/S4C Schools broadcats mainly from the 1980s, with a lot of clips being those that did belong to the late Simon Luxton which don't appear to have been on TV Ark at all.

Im sure the clips for TV ark etc are still in the process of being updated and restored on the site.

This is really quite fascinating.. I suppose its all the more interesting given the clips are all from the same day. I'm currently at the BBC 6 O'Clock News.

Interesting to see Daytime Live (the successor to Pebble Mill at One) again and over on C4, Business Daily (what a typically yuppy programme!)

There's a classic Paxman moment on Breakfast Time where he's trying to get communication from the director as to which story is next and the VT finished earlier than he thought... "..talk to me!" http://youtu.be/aCkwH0oZksg?t=2m43s

Very early clip of This Morning on there, probably the most interesting, and a high quality clip of the 1988-1990 Grange Hill opening.
