I would like to start a discussion on the one and only fully Irish language television channel of the Republic of Ireland, namely, TG4. If you are not from Ireland and not familiar with the station, you can read this descrption (from wikipedia).
TG4 (Irish: TG Ceathair or TG a Ceathair; IPA: /tiː dʒiː kʲahəɾʲ/) is a television channel in Ireland, aimed at Irish-language speakers and established as a wholly owned subsidiary by Radio Telefís Éireann on October 31, 1996. It was formerly
known as Teilifís na Gaeilge or TnaG, before a rebranding campaign in 1999. It is set to become an independent television broadcaster in April 2007[1], following the passage of relevant legislation in 2001. Additional funding is anticipated. Approximately 730,000 viewers tune in to the station every day and the core audience is in the region of 100,000; giving it an audience share of between 2-3%. Ladies gaelic football broadcasts attract up to 180,000 viewers.
But the main point is, that the website in my opinion is the worst designed website of a developed country's tv station.
The disadvantages of the website are:
oldness (not changed design from 2002)
loads of useless text-containing graphics and rollovers without any alternative text > they should be replaced with pure text to make it more accessible
Examples
- http://www.tg4.ie/Bearla/Spor/spor.htm
colours - see for yourself, reading white or gray texts from a eye-pain-causing violet background
Examples
- http://www.tg4.ie/Bearla/Corp/culr.htm
Using Java applets
Example

NO CASCADING STYLE SHEETS - shock for me as a intermediate webmaster...
Please leave your opinion here. As the discussion will expand I hope we will work out a mock website to send to tg4.ie.
