Generally when some more major database works needs to go on, it's easier to send people to that page than them continue to use the site as things are being updated/changed.
The change yesterday was interrupted by someone at the door as soon as I switched to the message so that's why it was only up for a couple of minutes!

Thanks for the reply Asa - I just wanted to make sure it was an intentional slide and not a sign that something had gone hideously wrong!

How is that spam? The person isn't selling anything and as far as you know, you may be the only person to receive it.

I also get random PMs from people I don't know asking for very specific MP3s, I find it rather odd and quite rude to be honest. If you're going to ask why not use requests?
Also, davidlees, I note you signed up in 2004, do you not remember / were you not the victim of the nightmare days of craiga and his little minions asking CONSTANTLY via PM to swap music? That certainly adds to my distaste for the practice.

Nice to see the wap site getting used anyway! I keep meaning to look through the usage logs.
