Seems that some older topics (e.g. from 5 years ago) that were available last month (still available by cache on Google) lead to a 404 page. Any reason why?

Topics which ended before mid-2009 have been converted to XML. Unlike before which had a separate section and used the raw files, this time they should appear no different to posts coming from the database. A few more pages have been uploaded, are there any topics now which should be appearing but still aren't? Each topic has an XML file (1 file per 100 posts) which, over all forums since 2003 means over 41,000 files!

And apologies for the downtime. Changes were made to session management to reduce the number of queries but this allowed the sessions table to be filled up come this afternoon.

I know it's been asked before, but is there any chance of you putting in 'place-holders' in the Gallery for when there isn't an image? As at the moment, topic details are unreadable when this is the case. Smile

EDIT: Just realised that there is, but only appears for one of the mocks.

A bit of a thoughts and views thing more than anything, but is there any value in having the forum setup so that people can't start new topics if they have less than 5 or 10 posts? It feels very Digitalspy I know, but there seems to have been a jump in spammers lately signing up and starting new threads solely to promote some random services or tin pot show; possibly a new SEO strategy related to Google's decision to start giving higher prominence to 'live' searches with forum posts and twitter feeds as it seemed to follow shortly afterwards.

Sorry to bother you, but where is the GMTV thread?? Its disappeared! Even searching for the thread on google brings up a page which says its unaavailible! Thanks!

Have just had to delete cookies as several threads (such as the sky news one) have been stuck in terms of their latest links for three days. Does the latest info rely on cookies still?

Also connectivity problems seem to be worse than ever for me, am I the only one who gets constant timeouts and long pauses on the site?

Could we have some explanation as to why threads are disappearing or being deleted, please?

Thanks, Bail.

Members deleting their post (if it was the last in the topic) meant it inadvertently deleted the whole topic, this has been fixed.

I'm not getting any pagination on Multiview, just the one page.
