This begs the question why have you created a totally new topic on a site not yet created promising 'Flash Screensavers, Video Clips, Sounds and more. BBC NEWS Presentation at it's best. Including recreations of other BBC Idents etc. ' ?
Shouldn't it be up to the visitors to decide when the site is up and running?
But why? The could say, they wanted it open tomorrow.
Then I can decide when it's ready to go online.
Oh. And before I finish. I am writing a letter to the BBC about the site and the copyright issues etc, so the countdown isn't going online until they Okay it.
(If they okay it. Just to keep some people in this forum happy)
So what line of arguement is some else picking.
(The site has been created. The design is ready. I did that before I registered the address. But it's not entirely ready. And contacting the bbc takes time)

I'm not disputing that BB, my point is that your first post is very misleading in that people will click on your URL expecting what you had promised above, when all they'll get is a splash screen. Maybe updating the topic title/post to say it's coming soon?

No, It's not. No body visits it. I had a peak of 200 hits in 15 days, and now I get less then 1 a day.

I'm not desperate to see anything, I just think it's strange the obsession with pre-promotion that currently seems to take people to pages that use masses of processor time.
If you make a site that has something worth visiting, people will generally go to it and other sites will link accordingly.
I suggest BB cuts starting these inane threads about things that haven't happened, and on past record, aren't going to happen.
Well. Karl. You haven't read the thread correctly. the 'tv' site is the BBC NEWSROOM now.
Yes Hedgehog Online was suppose to open weeks ago but the countdown was set for October and not september so I kept it that way.
The Big Brother site was closed. And a notice was on the site for around 3 weeks after the Digital Spy Project didn't exactly become a success I didn't see the point in re-attempting it, wasting valuable resources.
And lastly. Every page, image, or flash animation is tested on multiple PC's before they go online. I suggest you check your settings for your PC. The flash animations are intended for a user with at least a 56k modem and the bare minimum of 28K.
The bottom part of my site takes so long because it has to wait on the ad loading which is nothing to do with me at all.
I have also tested my site myself on a 300Mhz Celeron on a networked PC along with about 150 other PC's on a connection around 28K and the loading time was long but not massivly long.
This also proves that it was your first to the site. If it wasn't you need to do something with your PC. Because the Flash Anims are Cached and kept on Your PC so they don't need to be re-loaded everytime.
(And Ermm. Yours is the first complaint about loading out of errm. 40,000 visitors)
