The excellent Vintage Broadcasting site at www.vintagebroadcasting.org.uk has just been updated. New additions include clips and items on ITV Promotions, BBC Cymru Wales, Radio Advertisements, ITV Advertisements, BskyB Television, Radio Caroline, Radio London, The Start Of Radio One, BBC Licencing and an amazing download of the full 12-minute Colour Receiver Installation Film that went out three times a day on BBC-2 in the late 1960's at the start of Colour Television in this country.

It can't be bad, Malcy.

It's even got an advert at the top for leads for my Quad system.

That gives it eight out of ten, BEFORE I read the content!

The BskyB Television section is great. Shame the footage is so small in size.

Oh, and props on the site for using Quicktime/mpeg for the footage!!!!!!!

More sites should do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great new update, the trade test colour film in particular is fantastic.

Talking of quad, I've got a quadraphonic LP somewhere, love to hear it properly!

A great site - my dad was particularly interested in the Nicam Digital Stereo launch pages. He's a television engineer and was saddened that Sutton Coldfield never broadcast any nicam tests - instead just Crystal Palace and Emley Moor got the pleasure of hearing strange tones and hypnotic test music if they had the neccessary nicam equipment of course.

Hi All

I was sorry to read that visitors had problems with my vintage
site, the full story of what went wrong is on the front page of the site -
surfice to say, the hosting company screwed up badly on the 15th of August.

I have written to HBK off list tonight

Meantime, as they used to say on tv, after a breakdown, "normal service has been resumed"

Enjoy the site

Dave
