I started building this site back in June and have built upon it increasingly more within the past few months. In the 7 months it has been online it has been through several stages of undress, but I think I've finally got it looking at least half decent now.

As you can probably tell by the name it is based on all things UTV. It covers idents, news, weather, programme promos, well, pretty much anything you can think of.

I've recently perfromed a very large update of 89 video files as well as some screen caps to each of the sections. They've also had a reshuffle to accommodate the new 2006 presentation.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know what you think of the site as I'm looking to improve it as much as I can.

Cheers,
Stephen.

For those of you who haven't already noticed, UTV Today has had a bit of a facelift! The brand new look was launched at the end of January, changing this:

to this:

We've also had another 2 major updates in which almost 300 files have been uploaded and some sections reorganised.

I'm also pleased to announce that in the past month alone UTV Today has had over 12 000 visitors, compared to the 2000 it had in its first 6 months online! This wouldn't be possible without you guys, so thanks for visiting and do come back soon!

For anyone who's interested, I now have the start of this year's North West 200 footage online. Another live programme is due to be broadcast tonight at 10pm on UTV and then the race footage next Saturday afternoon. Caps of these events will then be uploaded shortly afterwards.

I've not actually had a proper look at the site before, but it's well done! Keep up the good work.

Even more fun to see your own work appearing on a fan site Smile

Should probably be posting this on the main forum...

UTV look to have done well covering the NW200 this year - suppose it's the only major NI sporting event they still have the rights to. Was there live coverage of the race on Saturday, or will the action be, as usual, in highlights programmes this week?

And were the graphics similar to the (impressive) templates used in 2005?

Looking at the images on your site, Stephen, the Live show reminds me of Kelly from the North West 200 in 1997 which was blighted with power failures - did this happen again this time round?

The shows on this weekend with the event on last weekend. It's a highly technical thing to put together so it's understandable the length it takes to edit. I've been informed 100+ tapes to view and shot list before it can even be started to be put together.

That's understandable.

Are there any plans to show UTV's coverage of the NW200 on Men & Motors again this year?

Yeah Col, the race footage will be shown this Saturday afternoon. There's quite a nice trail doing the rounds at the minute voiced over by Robin Taylor advertising the coming weekend's sporting events:

With regards to the graphics, I can only assume they will be using the same graphics as last year. During the live programme they were using the same astons, short stings etc as last year so they will probably be using them again on Saturday.

And about the power failures, it seemed to go relatively well until the very end. Nothing as drastic as a power failure, just Adrian messing up a link into the behind the scenes footage of the outside breadcast unit and then Claire arriving in the studio with no mic! That was about it!
