A brilliant post from Reg Sanders, the internal memo for the BBC 1991 idents. It seems some of the idents have different names officially than what they’ve been known as online (e.g. ‘Copper’ and ‘Cut Out’)

Anybody else irritated by the memo abbreviating "Cut Out" to Cu and "Copper" to Co?
Write that down in your copybook now.

Don't see what the problem is with that. I can't think of a better way to abbreviate them

Copper has a pretty well established abbreviation to Cu!

Ah, I imagine that a BBC Network Director's knowledge of the periodic table is as good as mine!

Interesting that South East was the only region title available, I'd have thought the 'default' region would have been London?

It was a three way split in the end, Oxford was switched to BBC South as a sub-opt and the old South East region became smaller in the 90s when Heathfield switched to BBC South before moving to the new BBC South East region with Dover and Bluebell Hill, the latter being ex SE.

What was the difference between the 'Corporate' and 'Campaign' promotional styles?

Only just spotted this - my reading of it is that 'corporate' refers to the standard menu backgrounds that used imagery from the idents, whereas 'campaign' refers to the themed sequences that used to change each season, like the ones at the top of this page: https://www.tvark.org/?page=52&subpage=Promotions which were eventually phased out sometime around 1993.
