I wonder who that guy was who jumped out of the Balloon. Love to hear his story.

If he really did jump out the balloon, and it's not just camera trickery :p

He's actually been stuck in the sky since 1995 and the BBC chanced at the opportunity when they rented out a zoom lens.

I was never keen on these balloon idents towards the end. I wonder if these were Heggessey implemented?

Unless I'm mistaken, Peter Salmon was still the controller of BBC1 when the "lifestyle" balloon idents were introduced in early 2000.

Most, if indeed not all, of the regular idents from '98, '99 and 2000 had the balloon digitally inserted, instead of being filmed with the rest of the scenery.

Yes, there was a real balloon used for the initial batch of idents and it was digitally inserted after that.

Seems like Twitter no longer supports Internet Explorer 11.

Does anyone still use IE anyway?

Apparently so as of the end of March this year:

Technically Internet Explorer is out of date now anyway, as Edge is their new browser and IE isn’t being developed any further.

Although Edge isn't available for all supported versions of Windows. IE is still getting security updates where its OS is still supported.
