They won't have expected 24 hour TV, Sky, rolling news channels, specialist children's channels

Well they predicted a CBBC channel kind of (BBC 4 DBS) although Blue Peter isn't on it, and there are some news channels

The schedules are so bare I don't know if they thought about 24 hour TV, or not. I would have expected a mention of Sky or Super Channel. In 1986 they were the established British satellite channels

The article is from 1983, Sky didn’t get going until 84 (as a brand) and Super Channel didn’t start until 87. But I get what you’re saying, surprised that a pan-European British Channel isn’t on the listings there.

Ahh, sorry I was flipping between pages so didn't get the date.

That makes more sense as by 1986 what became BSB was decided, but in 83 the future of the UK DBS allocation was up for grabs and it was assumed that it would be split between ITV and BBC

That's clearly Winter Olympics. November 2001 would've only been three months early.

Have they ever held the Winter Olympics in a tropical climate?

Off air recording of the end of the last edition of Going Live.

including the very end which previous recordings had cut off by that point. Can also see the crew cheer when the show comes off air.

Well it's not technically an off-air recording, as it's on the BBC archive channel, so it's presumably the studio master (hence the extra footage). For some reason I missed this tweet yesterday even though I follow them.

Going Live really did make the studio they were in look massive even though it was in one of the smallest studios at TV centre.

Also, the entire camera script from the final show is here:

Fascinating to see just how scripted it was.

Right down to Trev & Simon having an argument with Rick & Ade!

I like how it even tells them at what point to start the VTRs in TC7 to record the show!

Great to see such a high quality version of this. There is a clip already uploaded on YouTube from somebody's dodgy VHS tape which is replaced by a still of Phil and Sarah as the tape quality decreases during the capture.

A shame it seems to be encoded at a lower quality than the BBC Archive's Twitter videos usually are.
