TVPres.UK

The new stuff is being added in to TVPres.UK, and I thought I'd share with you the tweaked homepage, in a before and after way.

Its back to the old way now

I think the new homepage is launching soon and the images above were a 'teaser' for what is to come.

Indeed they were James, so thanks for clarifying that.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pop in and inform you that this snazzy new stuff will be online by Sunday at the latest. There'll be quite a few new content uploads, and TVPres.UK will have the new presentation from Channel 5 when it comes around on Feb 14th.

When the facelift comes online, you'll see:

- A much better homepage, as shown above, with links to the latest updates and more content, as there was too much white space on the previous version.
- The final version of the drop down menus, which are now wider, with all working links, that will open in the same window, and include once omitted options.
- Plenty of alignment. As the drop down menus are now wider, they'll align with the sub banners and the captured images below, which should mostly be level with each other.
- Video content. This will be links to the video on TVPres.UK's YouTube. Mostly, this will be for the newer stuff due to some issues with older video.

Also, in terms of content updates when the facelift comes online:

- Presentation from Newsround
- Presentation from BBC Three
- A much needed expansion to the Channel 5 section
- Presentation from Lorraine, part of ITV Breakfast

All to come by the end of the week.

It's online, all nice and shiny. Things are still being uploaded, but the main bulk is there. Take a look around, but please don't get your grubby fingerprints on anything!

Looking good! First thing I noticed wrong was on:

the image banner is "ITV ONE CURRENT PRESENTATION" also says TVPres.UK - ITV - Lorraine - Current as the page name.

Thanks for that. A few niggles that I'm sorting out, including some 404's that @transdiffusion has tweeted to me.

EDIT: The Channel 5 issue has been resolved.

Also, pages that aren't appearing at the moment may be due to a hosting delay. I'll look into it.

EDIT 2: The 404's have been fixed.

It appears that an issue means that display of some content sections is being delayed. However, I'm working to rectify this issue, even if I don't believe it to be my end. Also, content uploads are continuing.

Plus, the TVPres.UK fail-safe system has been installed. The system means that, in the result of a main site failure, a saved copy of the old version of TVPres.UK will appear instead, until the issue on the standard site is resolved. Hopefully, this system won't need using.

The Friday Update Fest will begin shortly, but a quick note before hand:

The Fail-safe system has unexpectedly deployed itself. There is no reason for it to do so, but I am working on resolving the issue right now.

EDIT: The standard site has returned, with the fail-safe system fixed, if it needs to make an appearance at a later date.

EDIT-2: The fail-safe system has redeployed. Removing the system altogether, for now.
