Although it's a bit easier for mods to perform certain actions compared to in the past it's still quite cumbersome. The plan is to have a much better and easier way of dealing with members and posts in the future and including a message at the end of a closed thread - either prewritten or a custom one is definitely on the to-do list. Otherwise, as you say, members may not know what's wrong.

As to being a mod, coming across as a level headed member is probably the most important - the ones who are neither beating the site down or praising it to high heaven but just get on with using the site for what it's for as pretty well respected. You should be a regular member but 24/7 is unnecessary (and probably a bit worrying!!). MrTom was an added bonus because of the time diffference.

You don't have to "know" people - Rob approached me a couple of days in and James a little while after and I've been forever greatful for their help. I don't remember having much personal correspondence in the past with Charlie Wells but looking around the forum he seemed suitable so I asked. Simple!

The homepage looks a bit bare without an ident still... There's a big white gap Crying or Very sad .

The server seems to be having a bit of trouble again, I got a Parse error earlier... reminded me of The Herbs Laughing

Seems to be OK now though (he says, tempting fate)

Perhaps it is time for a new moderator election?

yeah, yeah, while we ponder newer people to recieve critism, sorry, *elect* I wonder, how many other people are just seeing a BBC slide, where the x was not too long ago? Is this just some holding slide, or do you intent to change it soon?

I noticed that too... I tried Ctrl+F5, but it's still there, and no hint comes up too, to explain where it's from...
