There's been about a four month gap before actually, though this soon will be the longest gap. This is a big update however, as alot of the older clips have been recaptured to bring them up to the standard of the newer stuff, which takes alot of time to find the tapes again (something very sparse these days). I am getting along nicely with Revision 12 though, with nearly 50 new ones and about 100 recaptured ones sitting on the computer awaiting to be compressed to Real and Windows Media Format (Yes, I have to do both again!). Then it's just a case of getting all the pages done. Most probably it'll go up late next month, once exams are out of the way.

Revision 11.9.8
Yes, an update with more than just Worst Ad Award winners, abeit it's still another smallish one (and I'm horribly running out of numbers less than 12 here
). 5 new files from the ITV Day presentation package launched on ITV1 last month have been added, which seems to have gone almost totally unmentioned by any of the big pres sites. (Not that I blame you
) There's more than enough for the next big update, so I thought I'd do a little one to tide over in the meantime, and let everyone know I havent forgotten about the site.
(And it gives a good chance to preview the higher standard of the files, and the vastly tidied up download page, both of them due to come into proper use from Revision 12)

Well, a good few of those links (mainly the older poorer clips) are due to be replaced shortly with newer updated versions in the perpetually overdue Revision 12, but I still went through and checked the links on the page quickly. The only broken link I found is the Brits 2002 file, which is now corrected. Sadly I only have the connection speed at the moment to check the links aren't broken and not download every file in full, so if by a few you mean some which do download are faulty (ie cut out before the end or something), I'd be grateful if you could let me know which ones.

The links to the TT 99 and 00 idents don't work and i've tried right clicking and i just get an error message!
I wanted the Windows Media versions because RealPlayer is useless!

Though the player for Real is terrible, their actual encoder works alot better than Microsoft's does these days (It used to be the other way round!). But I digress. The links are now fixed, so thanks, though you'd probably be better waiting a week or two for when I have the actually watchable quality WMV versions up.

Hey, who told you about those armed thugs...
In seriousness I've never really seen much difference between MOV and AVI, other than one being a more closed Apple wrapper. Whilst with Real and Windows Media they both use a limited set of propriety codecs with their wrapper, Quicktime mostly uses other codecs such as ISO Mpeg4 and Sorenson (or it used to), hence is more like the AVI format. So if I were going to go to support a third format like that on the site, I may as well scrap all 3 and drop right back to doing AVI's (I'm sure the ebay moneymaking scamsters who sell the 'DVDs' with clips on are rubbing their paws with glee now).
(Oh and then there's one rather large thing I've always had against Quicktime. How can someone wanting to be a big competitor in the market justify not putting a fullscreen option into their player?)
