Will TV Whirl be featuring the new look Yorkshire Weather opening titles, or Calendar as Ashley's old TV Box site used to do with the old looks?

Eventually it will for Calendar. (not sure about the weather, as that changes so often). But seeing as I cant get Yorkshire myself (I wish I had Sky Sad ), I'm dependant on Ashley capturing it all. He's going to try, but you have to remember he's very busy at the moment, what with being at uni. I'm sure it'll be up there eventually though. Very Happy

At the very latest, I may be able to capture it all myself in September, when I go to uni. (All I need is a beasty high-gain aerial and I'm sorted).

Just to let you all know, I've got them all on video, the new look Calendar and the YTv weather titles, so I just need to get round to capturing them and uploading them, they will come eventually though. Very Happy

Thanks for that Ashley. Very Happy

Revision 8.8

Some other stuff from him is online this weekend. Namely 2 files from Yorkshire's 2002 Election Coverage.

There's also the new Tai Chi ident in the BBC1 section (or at least 1 version of it). I captured that myself for a change, as I seem to have been getting lazy lately! Wink

Revision 8.9

It's the last update for a while, but here's 3 more new files as usual. Firstly, there's 2 more in the ITV National Weather section, with the opening and closing sequence featuring some kid with a paper boat by the coast. There's also the opening titles from 1986 for Tyne Tees' networked Religious programme Highway in the 'Misc/Other' section. Very Happy (I've been humming that tune for days now!!)

TV Whirl - Revision 9
http://www.tvwhirl.co.uk

Okay, strictly speaking, it's been online for a week now, as the update went up late last Tuesday, but I haven't posted here until now, seeing as there were still one or two bits which needed tidying up.

After a long gap, I finally have Revision 9 of the site online. There's 80 new video files, including some Tyne Tees gems. New sections for Children's programmes, and for TTTV Public Service Announcements are now online. Everything was captured this time by Iam Burn (feel free to stick your head in this thread if you want to. Wink ), to whom many thanks go out to.

Myself, I've been working on the new page design. For the first time since it's launch in 2001, I've reconstructed the pages from scratch in notepad. They're all done using a cleaner mix of html and css... okay, so it's not perfect, and I know I'll be told it's not standards compliant Wink , but it's better than they were. (and trying to get full alpha-transparency PNG support in Internet Explorer is a bitch! Rolling Eyes )

Anyway, the new files this time round are as follows:-

Adverts - 50 New Files
TV Logos - 12 New files - 10 for Tyne Tees Television
1 for BBC2
1 for Channel 4
News - 3 New files - The News At 10 titles from 1987, Look North from 1998 and Tyne Tees' late news 1987
Mistakes - 1 New file - A breakdown on Sky Sports
Soaps - 1 New file - The 1991 titles to A Country Practice
Childrens - 10 New files
Other - 1 new file - The opening to The World At War from 1973
Science - 1 new file - The titles from The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy
Wildlife - 1 new file - The full 1987 titles to Wildlife on One

There's still a few rough edges on the site, such as the Worst Advert page, and the homepage. There may also be the odd broken link knocking about, so if you find any please use the new 'report link' form, a link to which is at the bottom of every page.

Thought you might like to see just how (frankly) confusing and unnavigable your site is for Mac users.

My god! That's terrible. Embarassed Obviously something to do with the browser's interpretation of the CSS, so I'll have to see if I can figure out some workaround for that.

Can any Opera users let me know what it looks like?

Sorry to say it's even worse on IE for Mac - distinct lack of navigation showing

I think I know what's causing the problem in IE for Mac. According to the readme on the script used, it'll only work properly in the browser if I have the Doctype set to strict. Just as soon as I can figure out how to get the pages to look vaguely similar under strict mode, I'll get that fixed. Switching to strict might also repair the Safari problem.

Okay Steve and MrToms. Could you please let me know if this test page works any better in the two browsers (if at all!), as I've spent a looong time messing with this.
