The TV Room

Really they failed at delivering their promise. (March 2009)

This site closed in March 2021 and is now a read-only archive

Seeing as the site seems to be down, replaced with a usual Apache server holding page, I'm led to believe they are redesigning the site again.
What annoys me is the fact that they claimed that the site should have all its content in HQ by summer 2008, then autumn 2008, then early 2009.

The reason? Converting videos to DVD, which seems rather pointless seeing as its not a personal collection but a website.

So, this topic is to discuss why its taking so long to restore all the content, when it will be restored and whether or not they are currently re-designing again.

I'm sure Mike and Martin have personal lives, so they don't have the time to update the site 24/7. Things take time...

A simple server upgrade. It happens. All sites go off at times.

The Website is not being re-designed, the current look is perfectly fine as is. Also Mike has a vast personal collection of VHS, MiniDisc, DigiBeta etc of recordings over many years. But as VHS is becoming obsolete, it is neccessary to maintain the collection for future use, and so it needs to be transfered onto DVD or other modern formats. As the footage is being transfered, Mike is taking the opportunity to recapture the videos for the site, and the still images art larger sizes.

Also there are plans for the future of the site which will require transferal of the videos which is being explored as this is happening.

The TV Room is run by one person, unlike TV-ARK which has a group of followers which work on the site, and Mike has a job and a life which take presidence as it should, so patience is needed, and in the meantime the site has alot of content on there so its not as if the site is empty.

How do you expect sites like the TV Room, TV Ark and TV Live to actually exist if the material isn't from personal collections?
