It does feel like I've taken a trip forward in time because I didn't think the site would be going anytime soon, I thought you were still putting up new sections and whatnot. It really is sad to see it go, although could we please have an archived version?

Until recently I didn't think it would be going any time soon either.

But for personal reasons, I want to move on, and I don't want 'ghosts' of the site hanging around...so no archive version I'm afraid.

Who'd have thought it?! You close a website, then the next day you get the highest number of hits you've ever had! Laughing

Robert, I've been one of your regular visitors over the years too. I'm so sad to see your excellent website go offline. I loved your BBC News section, particularly your coverage of the 1980s and 1990s. I'll definitely miss visiting. Thanks for all the effort.

Well, this is a bit of a surprise! I had guessed it would be around for much longer. Alas, that's not to be - but I can understand completely about it being a bit of a drag to maintain.

Unless you have a massive amount of enthusiasm for all current pres and enough time to spare, I imagine preparing stuff for upload and keeping pages promptly updated can bog you down somewhat - so I respect your decision to call it a day, if it gives you that extra bit of breathing space.

Bloody good site it was though - so thanks for the time Robert! Thumb Right

A real shame it's had to go. I particularly enjoyed the RadioTimes covers and listings from the past decades.

Onwards and upwards eh.

Could that be so that this doesn't happen to you?

Well I for one would like to have it archived on the internet. It contained loads of excellent information. Here goes:

Eurovision results since the beginning (full reviews since 1997)
UK Eurovision finals (A Song For Europe, Making Your Mind Up etc) since the beginning
Radio Times Covers gong back years and years
Christmas Day listings BBC1 since 1930s and BBC2 since 1964
1980s programmes: ones still going; ones that have long gone (and the question of them returning in future)
Key dates in broadcasting since 1922

Some of that information may be unavailable elsewhere, so it's a shame it's no longer available on TV and Radio Bits.

Please consider doing an archive of the site.

We know what was on the site TT, you don't need to tell us yet again.

Well my message was aimed at the webmaster of that site, demanding why the site should be archived so we can still see that wealth of information.

Perhaps if you were slightly less demanding and even offered to host the site yourself, that might make your request more legit.

You have no right to demand anything.

I too am upset of the farewell of another great website I would occasionally visit to check the updates and my favourite section was the BBC South East webpages along with Rob's viewpoint that surrounding counties are 'black-holed' into London when it comes to news coverage.

RIP TV & Radio Bits you will be missed. Crying or Very sad
