I just visited http://www.tvradiobits.co.uk/ to find "30 January 2000-1 October 2008 | TV & Radio Bits has closed. [...]"

Wha-huh?

Shocked. TV & Radio Bits was the first TV pres site I ever visited and I'm truly saddened to see it go.

Blimey, that didn't take long!

I'm sad to take it down, but circumstances have reached the stage where I have no wish to continue with it.

This is sad, TV & Radio Bits is, I think, my favourite presentation site. But if you don't want to continue, it's definitely for the best.

A real shame to see this go, one of the "reliable" sites I visited often and one of the very few now that provided genuinely interesting and original content. Most of the sites that have closed down in the past I haven't really cared about since you can find equivalent content elsewhere, but a lot of effort was put into this one and I feel as though I should comment on that. Thanks Robert.

...and that was "Thanks Robert" as in "Thank you for the work, nice one", rather than "Well thanks for taking it down you *******". Just thought I should clarify.

Thank you for the kind comments. To close the site wasn't an easy decision to make. It's something I've been going over in my mind for a few weeks now. I appreciate that it was a bit of a bombshell to take it offline so suddenly, for that I apologise.

It is a shame it's had to go...but on the other hand, when a website starts to become popular, you start feeling a commitment to keep it up-to-date, to get the latest idents up as soon as you can, to get a full Eurovision section up every year, and so on. I think I'll be glad to be free of these commitments.

Jesus, that was a shock, I'd been a regular visitor for over seven years. Even though it was around for years I still think of it as one of the newer sites, with MHP/TV Ark/TV Room etc as the old guard. I think the last site before now I was really sad to see go was APFS a few years back.

But thanks for the great site while it lasted!

A fantastic site Robert and a shame to see it go but sometimes it's quite nice to put a project to bed, especially if it begins to feels like a chore than something to enjoy doing - I had the same feeling with TV Home.

Shame that the archived version is blocked though Wink
