Hi Everyone,
Right, where to start? Basically over the past few days, I have been working on building a new social networking site for discussing TV Presentation. Using some wonderful opensource code, I have managed to create what I think is a pretty good site (but then, I am a bit biased). The site allows users to sign up and chat about anything to do with TV Pres, News Pres etc... (yes even rota's) in a micro-blogging way. So, why have I crated it? Here is the plan:
For example, if I was logged onto the site and saw an item on Midlands Today that I just had to tell TV Forum user 'Mike W' about, then I would simply message him and it will spring up on his account. It's real time so you can interact with as many, or as little people as you like.
At this point though you are probably saying 'But really, rotas?'. Well, it would be unfair not to allow them, but if they bug you as much as they bug me, you can simply click 'Ignore' and said users notes won't ever burn your eyes again. You may also be wondering if the site is pretty sparse of content at the moment? Not really as you can sign in to your Twitter account, accepting us as an 'App' and then you can Tweet and read Tweets directly from the site (Facebook integration coming soon).
What about if you own your own Presentation website and wanna jazz up your account to make it match your own sites house style? You can do that too, adding your own user image and background / colour scheme. Privacy a problem? No need to worry - simply adjust the levels of security accordingly in the settings to see who can (and can't) read your messages.
Let me know what you think, and do give it a try,
You never know, you may even like it!
