I cannot remember, did we have presenter/newsreader profile pages?

Can I kindly suggest that you don't add any "new" content for the time being. The priority is getting the old material back online. Thanks.

Lucky I changed a few of the normal wiki .pages to my edits. So a few pages are not lost. News pages are lost alone with adult channel.

Big Q; does any have copies of any of the tv wiki pages stored in there internet cache? Thus it may speed recovery up if some do. Alas due to tech problem I don't have any cache but maybe some others do like you rob or vp?

I know this can be done if you look at the history and have direct link for any pages. I did this once I got back deleted post .

I feel sorry for you Rob, been there and got the t-shirt. I'm guessing your hosts don't bother backing up databases? Mine in 2003 didn't. It's only since scanning every corner of my hard drive that I've been able to return a decent number of archive topics, probably losing only about six months worth from (I guess) when we converted over from flat file to database software in 2002. Still gutting though.

Lesson is definitely to backup!

I think all of us who have run websites with databases have been there at some point or another. Damn right though, back up everything at every opportunity.

It's sod's law. If you back up, nothing goes wrong, but if you don't, there's always a disaster. =/

There was a backup and it was uploaded, I left it at that (because I had to go out!) but it looks like Rob didn't have much joy with it for whatever reason.

The cause for this was an old TVF favourite... "finger trouble".
