I hope it's OK to split this from the main TV Live thread. If not, please let me know.

Our new TV Live Wiki is now online. Primarily it's going to be dedicated to television channels, presenters, announcers and programmes. It's still in the early stages, and there will be a few changes, primarily on the front page of the wiki, so bear with me.

As is customary with a wiki, you are welcome to edit the site and its contents anytime, simply by clicking on Edit at the top of any page. I've started things off by adding a few basic entries, and I welcome you to expand on them.

How do you intend for the pages on the TV Live Wiki to differ from those on Wikipedia (scope aside)?

I suppose Wikipedia is more about the history, whilst TV Live is more about presentation. Wikipedia can be quite strict on the number of logo's it has on pages.

That's exactly what I'm aiming for.

Will people be allowed to post rotas and the like on said wiki?

The last thing I want is for the wiki to be cluttered up with "<presenter x> and <presenter Y> presented Breakfast on <date>" to be honest Pete, although if information like that was to be left on one single page, I might consider it...

I really think this has the ability to be a great place... I just have to try and find the time and will power to add to it.

Thank you Phil. I'm pleased with the initial responses to the Wiki. Thanks as well to AxG for cleaning up and adding code in particular places.

I don't blame you Rob, it is clutter. I've often thought however that a wiki might be the best way to deal with this, and hopefully remove it from this site. I mean surely it allows them to document it far more methodically.

Obv I can understand you not wanting it on your nice shiny new site though Wink

Could we copy existing pages from Wikipedia and add them from there? Apologies if this is a stupid question.

I have no objections....

I'm looking at taking existing Wikipedia content and rewording it and correcting some of the 'facts' when they're wrong, objections to that? Not quite plagiarism more fast content creation!
