TV Live

This isn't supposed to be a sarcastic/rude post, but will this update be finished by the end of the day?

Under construction sign has just appeared on the site.

And it's been there for the past hour!

My browser must have cached the old webpage background and only reloaded the new design now.

No, not for at least a good few days yet.

It's a bit 1996, isn't it?

I should just point out that every single page on the site is being edited to fit in with the new style. I started doing that yesterday morning, and I'm not even halfway there yet. We're also overhauling the menu pages and testing and implementing new code to make the site better to browse.

I'm sure you'll appreciate the fact that Joe, James and myself are working our butts off to get the site online as soon as we can, but Rome wasn't built in a day. We're not rushing this, we want to get everything absolutely right before it goes live. As for a screenshot of the new look, I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I'm not posting one. I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

As I've said before, the minute anything changes on the site, we'll let you know.

Does the site get a new look every year?

I had similar thoughts but to be fair this one's more of a complete overhaul than a few graphical tweaks and changes. It's worth it...

Could you lighten up the white part of the background? I can see the 'TV static'-looking background getting annoying.

But apart from that, yep, that looks a world apart from the current design, in that it is very good!

That looks mostly rather good - clean and uncluttered. You've also used a nicer way of the 'Related Links' stuff too.

I agree with Phil on the white, speckled background being annoying after time. Also, the 'Back to the top' arrow at the bottom of the page drags itself up quite slowly, which could be irritating if you were on a very long page. One final thing that I'm too all that certain on is the TV Live motto/slogan underneath the page heading of 'Anglia News'. It seems to apply, at least in my eyes, that Anglia News is keeping presentation alive, and not TV Live.

That's just my two cents. All in all, very different from the current rendition, but very good at the same time. Well done!
