It appears that locked threads have no indicators that they are locked on Neon - unless it's me not spotting it. I was worried that the "PRODUCT PLACEMENT" thread was still open, until I got to the end of it.
Has the bug where going to the last page of a topic displays a blank page (the BBC News Presentation thread is currently doing it) been fixed for the next version?
Could I suggest that it might be worth removing the ability to create new threads for new members?
This would be a terrible idea, we were all new members once. Some people join only to start one thread and then never post again. It's not like TV Forum has a massive problem with new members starting loads of threads anyway.

It’s one option, or some sort of mod approval required for their first post and/or first topic. I’ve been against it in the past though because I think it’s another barrier that genuine users have to overcome just to participate. And in all the years there’s only ever been one case when someone has come on the site and really spammed the place stupid. I know there are some users for whom one thread that doesn’t belong here is an outrage but I think it needs to be kept in perspective with the number of new posts/topics per day.
When I get chance I’ll look at recent signups and the content of their first post/topic. Should give a indication of whether it may be sensible to have some pre-approval in place.

Yeah, should have a strikethrough across the topic title.

Yes, although because it runs off the same database it will still happen until we drop the current site.
Oooh! Another one for you - and a simple one - can you upload the missing smileys - I think it's the exclamation marks and question marks ones, because although you can't add them on here, they're still present in a lot of posts and you just get a big ugly missing image icon.
Alternatively, replace the output of your BBCode parser for the smileys with a <span class="smiley-???"></span> which links the relevant smiley through a CSS file rather than direct <img> tag.
Finally, any chance of a mobile skin with a bit of CSS to reformat the site for small screens?

We've used this for a while now as we tend to get more automated signups due to using off the shelf software. It's also useful for spotting certain "old friends" before they cause any problems.
I don't think it's really an issue over here in the same way though, you don't always know from their first post whether they're going to be a bit annoying.
Also I'd suggest it might slow some of the occasions nice nuggets that appear on here from insiders who suddenly sign up out of the blue as a mod has to manually approve it which can be quite easy to overlook.
Really
minor point - and it may have already been noted in this thread, and I've missed it - but there's a glitch in the formatting of the header forum links for The Gallery. In all other forums, the link to the forum you're in is highlighted white. But this isn't the case in The Gallery, where the link isn't highlighted at all (although it is for the threads within The Gallery).
Also, the Guide to Mocking thread appears first on the old site (I assume it's stickied, though there's no indication of this), but doesn't show up (on the first page at least) in Neon.
