Possibly the only other thing I miss is the post count. I always liked to see how many posts I'd made, and now it's gone I don't know when to buy myself a cake for post 1,500 without going into my profile summary page.
Point your mouse at a username above a post...
Still, I'd prefer it to be visible without hovering.
Whenever I attempt to rate an item in The Gallery, I get the error "Sorry, your rating could not be added" in Neon running on Opera. This is massively impeding my ability to give DanielK 5 stars.
I don't understand why some people are so against Neon. Admittedly when it first launched I took one look at it and retreated to the old version. Then after another month or two I decided to have another go adjusting to Neon. The second time around I found it much more appealing and I've stuck with it since. I was quite surprised at just how quickly I adjusted to it; it's really not that different to the original version. There are just a few more bells and whistles which can be easily ignored if you so wish. Fundamentally it's the same as it's always been - and better in many respects. And I should know... I've visited daily since its very first day in 2001 and have seen all the incarnations of TV Forum over the years. This is by far my favourite.
Very late to the party but just done exactly what you did - took one look at it and decided that wasn't for me, but as you say worth going back to just to have a play with.
Initial opinion is the forum menus have just too much info - I like to be able to easily see all the threads with new replies and easily go to the last unread message in each thread, and on first impressions that doesn't look too straight forward and I'm rather overwhelmed with info. The threads themselves don't seem to read too well at first either, but I think that's more a case of getting use to the change in layout (and I like the idea of the sidebar within threads).
Also will the multiview option go live at any point?
I don't dislike neon, but I find myself not using it... or very rarely. Probably because i only ever arrive at the old homepage from a google search (CBA with bookmarks). Its shere lazyness that stops me from switching, although there are a few minor issues.
I like a lot of the new features, but the pages themselves feel like there is a lot more unnecessary white space. That said, I find the main forum pages where the threads are listed to be extremely cluttered... Its far easier to view on 'classic'. I don't think its at all necessary to have the most recent post shown on this page.
Ah, needed to log in again. That improve things and most quibbles I have are just due to it being different, though I do think the option of hidding latest posts on the menu (so it appears in the more classic format) would be good.

Look in the sidebar for the option to use "Classic View".
