I am a member of Media UK, but I am not part of a select few of media individuals, nor do I have a varifiable personal e-mail address.
The forum is perhaps the least moderated I visit, becuase there is NO formal moderation. It is self-policed up to a limit. Not even swearwords are censored.
James Cridland may well by a Virgin Radio geek, but the mediauk.com website is excellent, both visually and technically, and in terms of content.

It is a bit cloak and dagger, but it changed the website overnight when they did it. Virtually all of the abuse was cut out, and the discussion forum actually became a proper discussion forum because nobody could hide behind usernames. It makes you wonder what TV Forum would be like if it implemented a similar policy - a simpleton free zone! It would be a new experience looking at the Mock Designs forum, let's put it that way.

Dan,
You seem to be interpreting my post as anti-MUK. It's not.
I'm merely saying that the fact it's all email verifiable etc., is just seems a bit cloak and dagger to me.

And you think the very people you've called fat virgins, geeks and accused of illegal drug taking are going to post of a forum YOU run?
You're an unlikable moron and I can't think anyone apart from your two online buddies will post there (Lorna 'Eyebrows' Jones and Nick 'God' Harvey)
But if programming a forum fills that big hole in your existance and keeps you busy then I'm all for it.

There is a gap in the market for such a forum/site.
Media UK's forums are now severely moderated and only open to a select few media individuals.
Digital Spy is ridiculously over-moderated, and one of the most difficult sites to navigate. It also has a huge membership, which makes it annoying if you're trying to put a valid point across, because as soon as you post something in a thread, by the time you've hit refresh, the thread has grown by 2 more pages.
TV Forum - slow, and dare-I-say-it, lost it's way. It still focuses on the anorak element of television presentation, and in turn attracts the lower forms of life, such as an army of 14 year olds with little or no grasp of basic grammar skills.
I'm not aware of any other similarly veined sites. A decent broadcasting (including radio) forum and site is needed. UK Radio exists, but it's poorly maintained and has a very small readership.

My forum isn't anything to do with the media, and it's purely there as a way of people to contact me, hence why I've never advertised it on TVF or Metropol.
I haven't advertised my site either for the same reason, and I don't intend to.

It'd also mean I wouldn't be able to get in. That's why I haven't posted at the TV Ark forum since they relaunched, as I don't have a verifiable email. Ah well, it was a good four and a half years while it lasted.

Is Simone Loxton part of TV Ark? He is the most prolific post editor in Christendom, at least on this board.

Can someone clarify something for me please?
Can us 'rank & file' post at UK Radio.com or Digital Spy, or is that only for the privileged few?
If it's for the 'privileged few', that's classist, jobist & any other 'ists' I can think of ! The public has opinions too, not just you media lot !
