This is going to be a somewhat annoying post, as I'm not really sure of the solution, but I find it quite vexing to see so many 'out of date' thread titles. For example, the Loose Women thread (not that I'm massively interested in LW!) has 'new look' in it, despite the look being many months old.
Same with many of the mega-threads. I hate mega-threads in general, but accept they're probably here to stay - therefore, is there a way to 'prod' the OP of the thread to update it past a certain point, say with a simple button at the bottom of the page? I don't know, that's probably not a very good idea, but I do sometimes think 'oh a new look…' or similar, before realising that it happened AGES ago.

With the ITV Programming Thread, I always tried to keep the subtitle up to date. I suppose some of that role is taken on by the topic preview (which I turned off).
The 2017 onwards thread by Asa has the equally valid solution of not using the subtitle.

I also hate mega threads, I would encourage people posting new and interesting content to make a new thread, you won't be told to "put that in the GMB thread: (unless it really is dull) as Asa, Charlie and I all have the same opinion, if its new or interesting, and if you think it would get lost in a mega thread then create a new one!

Yeah, it would be interesting to hear if anyone's got any ideas design-wise on encouraging new threads. Not sure the "Don't bury it on page 64!" is making much difference.
The search needs to be more intelligent too so people can easily go back to older topics. The new design has a search box top right of every page but I need to get it to be better - if someone types "the one show" it should really bring up any recent posts mentioning it, along with individual topics.
On the other points - yes, mass PM deleting will be an option! And I'll try and see how good my regular expression skills are for the tooltip bug (which itself needs updating, don't think the reference to N6 is quite right anymore

I still think people are scared to create new topics, because a few times without releasing it its duplicate of existing topic. Mind you some ppl got there finger burnt because the search didn't bring up all the results.
How about " Important news? Start a new topic" "Has this thread made you think of off topic Q? start new thread."
HOORAY TO mass PM deleting

I was so happy when somebody created a 2018 thread for BBC Oneness as it relieved me of my sub-titling updating responsibilities only for the mods to then go and merge it.

I suggested splitting the TVAM thread and putting the GMTV stuff elsewhere but that was ruled against.

Also that sky branding thread is a weird one its started in 2009 yet must have a few rebrand in it! from p210 https://tvforum.uk/tvhome/skys-branding-30045/page-210 it now covers the most recent rebrand,
hence why I started the Comedy central thread, quest/red and Fox.

A Happy Birthday to TV Forum, as it hits it's 17th year online today too. There have been some great discussions, and of course some not so great ones, but it always ends up being a fun place to read. Thanks to Asa for keeping it online all this time, and of course to the whole of the team for putting up with all the complaining from people over the years!
I'm informed that at 17 you can now legally be interviewed without an adult present, as well as choose to leave your body for medical study. Now there are some excellent things that TVF can look forward to!
