Firstly, it would appear to me that the members are expected to possess a certain viewpoint and anybody with a view differing from that is automatically segregated and even removed from the forum. [...] Case in point, the recent removal of robschneider for expressing his displeasure over the new series of Top Gear,
Nice spin. No, he was not removed for "expressing his displeasure over the new series of Top Gear", he was removed for making a sexist remark about one of the cast members.

and even my own experiences of being belittled by other members, after stating that programmes such as Geordie Shore were designed for 'stupid people'. This is an opinion that I am entitled to have, yet when I expressed this I was shouted down and sarcastically told that 'not every programme is made to please me '.
You're getting upset over people for jumping on you after you generalised the audience of a television programme as "stupid".

No wonder we have become the laughing stock of the internet.
We're ranked 267,423rd on Alexa and we're somehow the laughing stock of the internet?

Even this post is an example of the petty bullying and snark comments that goes on, not only on this forum, but the neighbouring sister forum Metropol, where there is currently an on-going thread about the TV Forum and its members at 716 pages and counting.

Which you post on.

TVF is probably one of the best discussion places to discuss tv presentation, along with a community who'll pick up on inappropriate conversation, such as those mentioned above about presenters private lives.

When comments are made such as a programme being for "stupid people", this is the domain of downmarket forums such as Digital Spy, not here, so it's no real surprise when members will challenge why you made that claim.

Most people post about the industry on here from a presentation or business point of view, so comments made about the actual viewing perspective are better off on social media or DS.

Not true at all. It's just the fact that the hateful ones are the loudest.

Just a note to say that the user profile option for 'TV systems' may need updating, as far as I know there are no domestic UK analogue terrestrial/cable/satellite services operating anymore, and Top Up TV should be removed from the digital terrestrial description as it closed a few years ago.

Should TopUpTV be replaced with YouView?

Should TopUpTV be replaced with YouView?

Would that be more logical than having separate options for BT TV and TalkTalk TV? Genuine question Smile

Considering YouView is used by them and Plusnet, the generic YouView name would probably be better than "YouView (BT)" for example.

To complicate it further, EE have their own Freeview/IPTV service and NOW TV is set to launch their own hybrid later this month.
