I've unchecked the box that says 'automatically subscribe to threads you reply to' but i'm still getting e-mail notifications.

That's slightly different, that's if in the future you create a thread you can choose to receive notifications without having to subscribe separately.

I may change the topic alerts to just be a on/off tickbox. You can also edit your subscriptions in one go at http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/subscriptions

Sorry folks but really dislike the new look of this site... Far too cluttered, less streamlined.
Posts difficult to follow when there's multiple replies - difficult to find topics when a good chunk of the last reply is quoted.
Sorry

Don't be sorry if that's how you feel! The topic snippets can be turned off with the link on the right hand side which returns it to a more familiar design. When you say "multiple replies" do you mean the topic page where it's not as obvious where one post starts and another ends?

Indeed. Hence you can't get back to the mobile site without clearing cookies.

Do you not get the "Mobile site" link at the bottom of the final column in the footer to take you back?

Just tried it and yes, it is there.

It's there on Opera Mobile on my phone, but not in my default mobile browser (or if I zoom in on Opera Desktop and click the Desktop link). Is it a browser detection issue?

Similar here - the link does indeed appear in the right-hand column footer using Chrome, but not when I'm using the default Samsung Galaxy S3 browser.

Whataday, is there a particular area that feels overly complicated?

In my opinion there's no need to preview the latest post on each topic. It just makes everything look so cluttered and harder to keep track of topics.

The extra content such as Latest Site Videos and Tags are not necessary and distracting. Also, the blue banners with the poster name and date/time at the top of each post is very bulky and distracts me from any form of conversation that might be happening during a thread.

It's change for the sake of change in my opinion. It wasn't broken, so didn't need fixing, and will ultimately result in less activity from me.

There is already an option to turn that feature off.

Although they do give access to content that was much harder to find in the past.

They get less in the way of a conversation than the signatures.

Ah, the good old " I DON'T DO CHANGE " argument. The bicycle wasn't broken, yet people decided to add engines. The CRT TV wasn't broken, but people decided to change that. The Sinclair Spectrum wasn't broken, but, again, people decided to change that. If we never changed things which worked fine we would never have developed past the caveman stage. Mad

Sorry I should have said multiple quotes within a post
See the post from 'Billy Asko' below your last post in this thread for a less extreme example.

Should say I like the font changes, ' tags' / 'popular'...

Can we please please please please have an ignore user option. The Sky News thread is becoming unbearable.

In addition to Kudos can we have a Kontempt button to downvote everything in the daybreak thread? I'm willing to allow my face to be used for this button.

The rumour-mill that is the Daybreak thread? How could you possibly want to downvote anyone's contribution in there?! Laughing

Andrew/bilky, do you want to give the mobile link another go? You may need to clear your cache. It wasn't browser detection based but standard CSS, although it was looking at device-width so if the browser is setting that to be high to show a desktop view then that's why it wasn't showing.

Delete post option should be back. Still trying to track down how the homepage was showing the wrong poster but the right summary text.

Thank you for dissecting my opinion (not 'argument') but I embrace change all the time. I just find the new look forum more complicated than it needs to be. TV Forum has always had a classic, simple design that made it easy to take part in discussions. I think the new look has made it more difficult to do so, and that defeats the object.

Having said that, the Hide Snippet option makes things more bearable. I think it should be the default option as it looks so much neater.

Same situation as before - it works on Opera Mobile, but not on the default mobile browser.

Can I just say from using the Neon beta for quite a long time how weird it is not to have to switch to it when I type in the site address and get to the homepage.

Brilliant modern design and works very well on the version I use of Chrome on XP.

To Asa and co, many thanks.
