Would you perhaps be able to consider adding a poll feature. We regularly hear individual views but sometimes its nice to see the majority view of a topic within the forum.

If only we had some sort of feature to gauge the potential popularity of a poll feature.

I remember we used to have a poll feature back when TV Forum started in 2001. It was around for a few years and then disappeared, possibly due to a message board software update. I'm sure Asa will be able to correct me if I'm wrong.

Strawpoll.me is a decent site you can use as an alternative. It looks like this: http://strawpoll.me/6528900

Think the poll feature was around for a while. Seem to remember it got silly with things like 'Who should be the next host of Countdown?' only a few days after Richard Whiteley died. But I might be confused with DS....

I just think it would be nice. Perhaps an Administrator could add one to the homepage and alternate the question monthly. If that wouldn't be to much of a bother of course.

I may have just figured out why pip2's videos don't work for me on Safari on iOS/OS X. I just tried posting a clip I uploaded to Metropol to the Channel 4 News thread. However, despite using the same settings as I normally do, the clip brought up an error warning in Safari on both platforms.

The only thing I did differently this time was to have the clip set to public, so I changed it to private (giving it a random URL) and, what do you know, it now works. Strange!

Agree it is sometimes nice to get a snapshot view but can also sometimes discourage discussion. That said though the ratings system in the mocks forum doesn't - people are quite happy to give a bad mock one star then point out in detail why!

Back to quoting and though I suspect it's not built in to this forum software so probably a non-starter just noticed a useful feature on the new Media Spy forums - if you highlight text in a post you can just quote that bit, rather than having to quote the whole thing then delete what isn't relevant.

I believe that's a standard feature of the very nice XenForo forum software.

TVForum runs on entirely custom code built by Asa from scratch, we're not moving to anything else anytime soon, but certain features if popular enough may be introduced in time.
