Is it just me that thinks it would be good to have a notification every time someone quotes you? I think I would find it useful to know if someone is disagreeing with me or expanding on a point.

Just a suggestion!

IPBoard has this feature and it's actually very useful, including when someone likes your post.

I disagree with you. Under what circumstances would you not return to a thread that you have participated in?

BTW. I've sent you a PM to let you know that I have quoted you.

I'm concerned he won't know you've PMd him. Perhaps dropping an email might be an idea?

The circumstances that you have a life and don't see returning to a thread as a priority. Or maybe you forgot to. I don't return to many threads that I've posted in.

Anyway, as I said, it was just a suggestion.

Had you not sent me a PM - I probably wouldn't have come back to this thread because I had already forgotten that I posted in it by the time I saw the notification, as well as the fact that I never look at this thread because I don't find it very interesting. So thank you for proving my point. Smile

Thank you for the PM, it was very kind. Obviously you wouldn't have to send a PM if there was a feature like this.

I did know he PMd me, because as soon as I came on to TV Forum a minute ago, I could see the little yellow icon in the corner - I instantly went to the PM and the link that he kindly gave in the message, so I could return to the thread as I wouldn't have done so in the first place. So this is proving my theory to be right.

Question to the mods (hope this is the right place, not done this before).

Just wondering why the ITV region for Welsh and West members states HTV and not ITV West or Wales? I know some people probably like the fact it still says HTV but I personally can't stand the inaccuracy. Embarassed

Thanks for reading

P.S - STV members tend to have 'STV *region*' after the STV logo, to me that seems wrong. For example just 'North' after the STV logo seems enough to me. Sorry. Embarassed Sad

It's also sort of the old STV logo now, as well.

In fact I'm also inaccurate as ITV West is now part of the ITV Westcountry area I believe?

STV North and STV Central are counted as ITV (in the original sense, not ITV plc the owner of the regions in England and Wales) regions which is why they're displayed like that. It's just Asa gave those regions fancy STV logos instead of ITV which would of course be technically inaccurate. It would look weird just seeing 'North' or 'Central', especially since Central is already an ITV region.

It looks weird to me now. Very Happy I get why it has been done though. Was there any reason for the HTV regions?

EDIT - I noticed the BBC have their News programme names as the identifier, could this work for the ITV/STV/UTV stations too? Could look better in my opinion. It's not as ITV is very Regional these days! Very Happy

True, Yorkshire's name isn't used at all nowadays, and of course neither are LWT, Carlton, and HTV. The rest are only used in the names of the local news programmes.

We still get the 'London Weekend' weather forecasts here in London. But I don't think it's deliberate!
