Wow! Cogratulations TVForum. I joined two days ago but I didn't realise it was nearly six years old!

HOORAY! *ignites a few party poppers, decides not to sing
Happy Birthday
as it'll most likely result in mucus all over the screen*
Happy birthday TVF (for tomorrow), and congratulations to Asa for managing to keep it going for so long.
Any idea on when you'll be able to install the beta software, Asa?

The old forum software didn't assign a user id so I can't work that out but on a very old random backup of the data, I did find your joining date - Friday 30 Mar 2001, making you very likely to be within the first 50!
Not sure if I should be proud of that or not...
It means you've been here longer than me. IIRC I joined on the sixth of April 2001.

I can say from memory I was within the first 50 members to sign up.

Six years! Blimey. Well done Asa - there aren't many sites that have stuck around that long!
You are quite right. When I first looked up TV presentation on the internet in 2000 (I've always been fascinated by idents, logos and news titles ever since I was a young lad, though) there were loads of websites - TV Ark, The TV Room, Round The Regions, TV Home, Jim Edwards' TV World, TV Whirl, InformativosTV, to name but a few - which were all updated regularly. Several of those websites have now well and truly died and others are still there but are no longer updated. It really is quite sad. I'm just glad that YouTube exists now, although I miss the expert commentary to go along with clips and images.
