One of the last jobs I carried out with TV ARK before handing my baton on to Marcus Bernard was to completely update all the pages within my care ie. ITV London, Cult, Soap & Misc, based on a new design template created by Gareth Price. He joined the team to create and run the new International section (some fantastic content from the USA, set to increase with European idents) and to bring on his expertise as a professional TV graphics designer in kicking us into the Noughties.

Speaking purely for myself, it took me over five weeks - evenings and long weekends - endlessly going through all my pages and effectively rebuilding them from scratch. That, in addition to completely recapturing lots of my older real video clips in Helix producer at a slightly larger frame size, for better clarity. Those old sections of mine now amount to something like 50pages. TV ARK as a whole must contain, on estimate, between 200 and 300 pages...

Like many other websites and webmasters, the TV ARK pages I used to run were a labour of love for me, and one of the reasons I had to give it up was because it was taking up far too much of my time. I actually started to agree with people who told me I should get out more... certainly when so many oher people out there on the net seem to think it's our job to be cutting edge, up to the minute, bla bla bla... when there really aren't enough hours in the day. The only raison d'etre for me was to to try to present as much interesting, historical, rarely seen material and information as possible to the widest appreciate audience - nothing else was of importance.

I'm sorry that one or two folk think the new look is a load of old knickers - not wide enough, not sparky enough. However I'd like to congratulate my former colleagues for pulling it all off with such elan.
