Unfortunately, there is really no way to "test" for this, unless we dedicate all the server's time to checking every [img] tag and seeing if it's active or not. If we did implement this policy, TV Forum would be essentially inaccessable. Keeping the files around forever really isn't an option, either ... many of those mocks are (or were at one point) hosted on my server, and I don't have an infinite amount of disk space.
As for the "safe areas" debate ... there are some people here who have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in television design, and having the technical know-how to do that is important to them. If you're just throwing something together as a mock, and uploading it, then that's fine, but understand that there are technical issues that some people pay more attention to than others. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and ordering you to obey safe area guidelines. You have the ability to think for yourself and decide if you want to spend the time doing that or not.
People need to understand that tolerance is key here ... there are a lot of different opinions from a dramatic age range, and it's difficult for some people to appreciate the post's content rather than the way it's written. Of course, there are posts that are completely pointless, and those should certainly curtailed.
People need to calm down firstly, and then calm down about calming down secondly.

However, i think the admin/moderators should sort out the mocks forum for older posts where the mocks are no longer live (the dreaded red X or File not Found error) - However this is for another time.
