I always think it's how you write to them to be honest and I'm not prejudging you with regards to my little statement. I've known a couple of them for a few years in email land and they have always come across as really friendly people.
The trouble is with a site like that, they are bound to get plenty of emails, some about the site, some not and bearing in mind, it's just a hobby site, we can't expect too much.
My updates work fine. I can play them on my PC both at home and at work. The only time they didn't play was on a different PC at work, so I downloaded the most recent version of Real Player from Real's website, and then they worked. Maybe you could try doing that too? If not, well, who knows what's going on? Maybe it's all the fault of the communists?!
Secondly, like many of my Ark colleagues, when the time comes to make updates I invest of time on them. For example, I spent the whole of last weekend shuffling through tapes, capturing clips, capturing still frames, surfing the net, consulting reference books and writing the detailed notes for the 27 new clips in the last update.
At this time of year I'd much rather be out having lunch in the sun, walking by the river, going to the pub, anything actually! Then there's the day job, which keeps me very busy anyway. So forgive me if in the mean time I don't always have the time to respond to personal emails - which are VERY few and far between as it happens.
But whenever *anyone* offers a suggested correction or amendment, I always endeavour to put those suggestions into effect in time for the next update of that page. I have never once sent a stroppy email to anyone who wrote to me offering advice. I'm only stroppy when people are stroppy with me... but as I said, hardly anyone ever writes to me!
I updated to a newer version of Realplayer. And the clips have been working since. But they have stopped working again today, they play for 2 seconds then stop. Anyone else having similar problems?
They seem to be having problems again. All the clips just added to the Sky News 2001 section have been removed. I had trouble getting any clips to play before.
For god's sake, what the hell is wrong with TV Ark. I have upgraded to the newest Realplayer, and the basic one ( which did the job as well as the newest one I might add ), and now nothing will play again. I have no problems on other sites, so it must be TV Ark.

Well, I have Realplayer 10, went to the TVA updates page yesterday, downloaded a new clip of Spotlight that was put up on Saturday and it played fine for me...
(speaking of Spotlight I also dowloaded a 1999 edition title sequence, they should NEVER have been made to take the corporate look, that lighthouse sequence was brilliant!)
As I say every other site works fine, I have upgraded to realplayer 10, and they do not work.
What I don't understand is all the BBC Look East clips on TV Ark play fine for me, but nothing else will play. It says, Connecting, Playing and then Stopped. I don't know why this is not happening with the Look East clips to. Perhaps someone from TV Ark could explain please ?
