Yep, That was cause because of people downloading clips like 5000 a day , so as a result Tv Ark has temporarily suspended the updates whilst they are trying to sort out the bandwidth problem. Shocked

Imo, I think they should just put that anti right click software.

That has been discussed but we don't really want to do that, as it may deter people from visiting. Also I know from experience that streaming clips just won't work on some connections.

The majority of people who download from us are legitimate fans who want a download of particular clips for their personal enjoyment. But yes there are a minority who have abused our hospitality and have ripped the entire site to sell on Ebay. Which as we all know is highly illegal.

So yes, we are working on the problem and hope those who wish to download (sensibly) can carry on doing so. In the meantime there will be no updates but the material-gathering continues!

Why would they want to do that?

It seems completely pointless and to be honest, the quality of the clips isn't that good because they a) are used in Realplayer and b) are of a very low resolution to bother selling. How much are they going for anyway?

Confused

What puzzles me is why people would buy them when a simple search in Google would throw up TV-Ark, where the clips could be downloaded for free!

It would deter me from visiting.

I would do what MeTV does and restrict individuals to 20 downloads a week.

That's interesting - how do they do that?

Pointless as it is there are people out there who'd sell their own granny for a fast buck...

I have come across several auctions where the sellers have openly admitted stealing from TV Ark. They always end the sale once I've squared up to them...

How's TVArk coming along? I know you've had some bandwith probs recently but when will we see a return of the updates?

Thanks

I wish I could tell you! We're toying with a system whereby each team member updates their pages on a specific day of the week, but exactly when or even if we'll adopt this is another matter.

The main problem for us is to stop thieves nicking our clips/images, and various systems are on test.
