Final preparations are being made to celebrate t|v|a's passing into the second decade of the Millennium. Features will include something from the Millennium, a look back at the changing face of the site over the past 10 years, and something from the late 20th Century. All of which will add to the 1720+ videos available to view & search on the site.

Updates will be in place during Friday evening.

10 years of t|v|a has now been achieved! To celebrate, we've added two new sections, the first illustrating MTV's ident history over it's 29 years of broadcasting. Secondly, a look back 10 years to the Millennium and what could have been for the GMG group in the North with a series of unused Millennium idents.

Thanks to all that have chosen to view t|v|a over the past 10 years, with so many changes to the Internet and how people use it, it's good to see people still view t|v|a in the same way as they did when the site first started. In a way, the influx of video sites in whatever form can be attributed to how the Web 1.0 sites laid the building blocks for newer sites to display the same content in a different (& more efficient) way. Who knows what the next 10 years will provide!

I'm a bit delayed with this due to being busy when it went up last weekend, but congrats on reaching 10 years of being on the net. A lot has certainly changed over that time it has to be said, both in terms of how pres is looked at on the net, and pres on TV, and it's good to have someone who's been there throughout. It's always hard to know what the future will hold for TV Pres sites, as broadcasters become more and more paranoid over video online and see ways to make money out of what were once just harmless clips for history's sake, but here's hoping there'll be many more years to look forward to yet!

Some great updates that have gone up to celebrate the 10th anniversary too. Are we sure that millenium ident was never used on the air though, as I'm sure I recall Tyne Tees having one at the time... o.o

My memory is fuzzy but could you be thinking of the silver Christmas '99 ident?

That was actually my first thought as well, but I'm sure I remember something being done for both, as I vaguely remember it seeming nice at the time that they'd done something for the millenium despite the generic look. Then again, it is a single day 10 years ago, so I don't imagine my memory is reliable! Perhaps just wishful memories. Razz

Anyone else remember a bit more whether they did actually go to air in Tyne Tees/Yorkshire in the end?
